How does past/ present define me as a teacher?
By using my past experiences as a student and PST I am able to develop my present teaching strategies and pedagogical practices. I can take]experiences through my own schooling, how did the teacher cater to individual students needs, how was the classroom structured, what were the teaching strategies implemented. I can then link my schooling experience with a more recent experience of placement, seeing how my mentor teacher taught and how the classroom is structured All these experience from my past will well me to build my own present teaching identity.
I like the fact that you have collected your past experiences as a way of showing your further knowledge about the present. I feel as though you will be able to use these experiences to improve upon your past experiences.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to see you thinking this way. I think it also allows us to notice how far education has come in recent years. By taking into your account your past experiences and recent placement you get a better idea of what works and what doesn't. As you connect theory to practice and critically analyse your experience in an educational setting you will being to form your own pedagogical practice in the classroom.
